Right to Information and Information Privacy

Right to Information Act 2009 (Qld) (RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld) (IP Act) give people a right to access documents from government agencies.

 

The RTI Act requires payment of an application fee, processing charges and access charges and the IP Act requires payment of access charges. From time to time fees and charges may be changed by the Queensland Office of the Information Commissioner.

 

Cook Shire Council warrants that itemised Right to Information (RTI) and Information Privacy (IP) fees and charges are up-to-date and accurate at the time of adoption.

Council provides a professional Development assessment service.
The cost of external consultant's fees for any further assessment or advice required by Council in consideration of any application or submission and/or technical report may be charged to the applicant, including re-submissions. The cost must be paid prior to the delegate's or Council's final determination of the application, with the applicant to be consulted prior to the engagement of external consultants or specialists (e.g. development that involves vegetation, engineering, expert planning / legal opinon).
